Dakota Trail Segment in Minnetrista Will Close in May

Trail users will be asked to follow posted detour.

A section of the Dakota Rail Regional Trail will be closed in May so workers can rebuild a road that crosses the trail in Minnetrista.

The project involves the reconstruction of a portion of Highland Road in Minnetrista. As a result of the project, Highland Road will cross the Dakota Trail at a right angle, which will improve sight lines for both trail users and motorists.

The trail is expected to be closed between Highland Road in Minnetrista and Kennedy Memorial Drive in St. Bonifacius from April 30 through May 25. During that time, trail users should follow the following posted detour routes:

For trail users traveling west: Follow Highland Road south, go west on Kennedy Memorial Drive and rejoin the trail where it intersects Kennedy Memorial Drive.

For trail users traveling east: Follow Kennedy Memorial Drive east, go north on Highland Road and rejoin the trail where it intersects Highland Road.
