Bank Robber Remains at Large Following Sunday Holdup

Suspect fled on foot; nobody hurt.

A bank robber remains at large after holding up the MidCountry Bank located inside the Cub Foods in Shorewood and making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery was reported around 10:30 a.m. Sunday and set off an extensive search involving multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. A canine unit and helicopter were also used, according to South Lake Minnetonka Police Chief Bryan Litsey.

No suspects were in custody at the time of this posting. A gun was used during the holdup, but no injuries were reported.

Law enforcement describes the person they believe is responsible for the robbery as a black man of slender build and medium height in his 20s who was wearing dark clothing and a Cleveland Indians baseball hat. 

The South Lake Minnetonka Police Department and the FBI are jointly investigating Sunday's robbery, and anyone with information is urged to call 952-474-3261 or 763-525-6210.
