"We do not know who the tenant is, we just know it is going to be a grocery store," Excelsior City Manager Kristi Luger said. "They should be announcing the official tenant in the next week or two."

In another distinct twist, STEELE trainers will be able to travel between the new Excelsior location and an existing STEELE training center in Wayzata on customized, STEELE personal watercraft. During spring and summer, trainers can zip across the lake to provide services at each location, cutting down on travel time for employees and customers.

“The upcoming Excelsior location is another example of how we are challenging the status quo for fitness facilities,” said Steele Smiley, founder and CEO of STEELE Fitness. “Excelsior Bay, in addition to our unmatched training and nutrition services, will give residents a truly unique workout experience.”

In addition to the use of the bay, the new location will have an expansive one-on-one training floor, a group training room and state-of-the-art locker rooms, as well as STEELE’s signature garage doors.

“We are excited to bring something new to Excelsior and be a part of the new business development in the area,” Smiley said.

The group training room will further expand the "STEELE T.W.O." group training concept, which provides an upbeat, yet sophisticated team atmosphere featuring a mix of cardio, resistance and strength training exercises. Similar to all other STEELE locations the center will feature five-star amenities and have a retail boutique carrying a number of active-wear and lifestyle brands for the public.

Existing STEELE Fitness locations include Wayzata, Edina and St. Paul. A center in downtown Minneapolis opens this fall.
