Excelsior's Bee Cottage Announces Details of Spring Flea Market

The Bee Cottage is open the second Wednesday through Sunday of each month, featuring the wares of over 24 independent artists and vendors.

The Bee Cottage in Excelsior has been a destination occasional sale shop for almost three years.

This year, owner Jennifer Finlay thought it was high time for a celebration of spring and all things treasured and fine. So tents have been pitched, and flea market finds gathered from points near and far.

The French inspired flea market will take place next Wednesday, May 9, through Sunday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  (12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday).

“I’ve always been inspired by the beauty and charm of French antiques and vintage finds” Finlay said. “I’ve been so fortunate to have a fantastic group of like-minded vendors and artists willing to share space in my shop and present their unique offerings to our customers in an exciting and fresh way every month.”

Finlay assumed ownership of the shop in the historic Maple Inn of downtown Excelsior last year. The success of her handcrafted Jennifleur Candles prompted her to push for her own retail outlet for the line, currently sold in over 150 stores across the US and Canada.

Joining forces with Finlay is the flea market style guru Nancy Koch, former manager of Dayton’s Paris Flea Market. Together, they have transformed the quaint inn into a true Parisian-style atelier with an ever changing assortment.

“We’ll keep the flea market set up going throughout the summer months and promise to have lots of treasures for discovery and delight," Finlay said. "Excelsior is such a fantastic town to explore, and we encourage all our customers to check out all the other shops and restaurants in the neighborhood too.”
