Creating Smiles and Brightening Communities

Lake Minnetonka Orthodontics gives kids and adults a leading local option for ortho care.

On the surface, it would appear that is just another option for orthodontic care around Lake Minnetonka.

Digging deeper, however, that appearance is enhanced by the involvement of the practice in the communities around the lake and the desire to give back to the communities at every opportunity.

Stacey Gerken, communications coordinator for Lake Minnetonka Orthodontics, believes that their involvement with residents and communities in the Lake Minnetonka area is key for their success future growth.

"We work really hard to be involved in community events, school programs and initiatives that give back to the communities," Gerken said. "We strive to treat our patients like members of our own family, and many of these relationships were formed from our sponsorships and activities within our communities we serve."

James J. Hill Days, Apple Day, Raspberry Festival and the Firecracker 10K are just a few of the events that Lake Minnetonka Orthodontics either sponsors or has some involvement with on an annual basis.  They have even developed their own annual skating party at the Roller Gardens in St. Louis Park each year to offer families an opportunity to get out and skate and meet the staff.

With offices in Excelsior, Wayzata and Minnetonka coupled with services from five available doctors, Lake Minnetonka Orthodontics has many options for families looking for orthodontic care.  Doctors Douglas Jolstad, Stephen Nelson, Krestine Tiziani, Kimberly Bohlig, and Jason Burckhard have over 80 years of orthodontic experience among them. The number of locations available and the experience level of the doctors is another differentiator according to Gerken.

"We are unique in that we have the three different practice locations and five available doctors with so much experience," she said. "We realize how important decisions like ortho care are, so we want to be able to provide our patients with as many convenient options as we can with our multiple locations."

While much orthodontic care may be associated with braces for children, Gerken quickly points to their relationships with all members of the family and refers to the many adults that utilize their services.

"With our work with Invisalign, we see many adults now that want these services, but don't really want them to be visible," she said. "I'm always amazed and very satisfied when I see multiple or all members of the family being treated here. We really want to make this a warm, friendly and fun environment for everyone, regardless of age."

A strong referral network, relationships with general dentists in the area, and a commitment to quality care and service are what Gerken refers to when asked about the future of the practice and their goals moving forward.

"I really think we will continue to do what we have been doing," she said.  "Continuing to provide expert care, world-class service, convenient options for our patients, and to be involved with the communities by giving back as much as possible are all going to help us continue our pledge to be the best to the residents of the Lake Minnetonka area."
