Freshwater Society Will Host Annual Road Salt Symposium

Annual Road Salt Symposium poffers help to reduce chloride pollution in Minnesota's waters.

The Freshwater Society will host the 11th Annual Road Salt Symposium on Feb. 2 at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska.

The annual conference aims to increase awareness about the harmful effects of chlorides in road salt and to offer solutions to mitigate this pollution. The 2012 symposium will feature the latest information on chlorides in state waters and provide innovative approaches to help repair waters and sustain resources.

This year's event will also emphasize solutions for everyone—from homeowners to city managers to building owners and transportation departments.
