Tonight: Heads Will Turn During Excelsior Girl's Night Out Fashion Show

Mistress of Ceremonies will be Melinda Nelson, Senior Editor of "Mpls. St. Paul Magazine," and the show will be introduced by Excelsior Mayor Nick Ruehl.

Another exciting event is on the horizon for Excelsior Girls’ Night Out. The always-popular Fashion Show is back this year on July 12 and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Excelsior Girls’ Night Out is a weekly event on Thursday evenings during the summer and early fall months in downtown Excelsior. Local retailers and restaurants offer specials, promotions and events from 5–9 p.m.

“Tangerine Dream” is the theme for this year’s Fashion Show. Mistress of Ceremonies is Melinda Nelson, Senior Editor of “Mpls. St. Paul Magazine,” and the show will be introduced by Excelsior Mayor Nick Ruehl.  

Music will be provided by DJ J. McLovin’.

The July 12 Fashion Show, held right on Water Street, begins at 6:30 p.m. Fashions for men and women will be shown featuring styles from many Excelsior retailers. Both hot weather ideas and pieces to transition into cooler late summer evenings will be offered. Drawings will be held during the Fashion Show for gift certificates and prizes donated by Excelsior businesses.

All seats are general admission, and tickets are on sale now and the night of the show at participating Excelsior Girls’ Night Out retailers for $10 each.  

Fashion and fun enthusiasts are invited to come to Excelsior early to enjoy shopping and dinner, and stay after the show as most retailers will stay open until 9 p.m.

All proceeds will go to benefit Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA), which is a non-profit organization that raises awareness about ovarian cancer and provides support to patients with the disease and their families affected by it.
