Cruise Lake Minnetonka History on the Minnehaha During Wayzata Art Experience

Showcased will be dozens of historic homes and neighborhoods, including Ferndale, Maplewood and Northome.

Lake Minnetonka's historic Steamboat Minnehaha will be offering six architectural design-themed cruises out of Wayzata next weekend, June 22 and 23, in conjunction with the Wayzata Art Experience.

Tickets are $5 each and are available at the boat itself on a first come, first served basis. Each cruise will be approximately 50 minutes long and will depart from the historic Wayzata Depot. Showcased will be dozens of historic homes and neighborhoods, including Ferndale, Maplewood and Northome.

Here is the lineup for speakers so far:

*Bette Hammel: 11:40 a.m. Saturday, June 22.
Harriet Dayton: 12:40 p.m. Saturday, June 22.
Dave Duff: 12:40 p.m. Sunday, June 23.

Three more speakers will be announced in the near future.

*A limited number of tickets for the 11:40 cruise on Saturday are available for presale at the Wayzata Chamber offices until Friday, June 21. Bette Jones Hammel is the author of "Legendary Homes of Lake Minnetonka" and is a locally noted architectural historian.
