See the Stanley Cup Today in Excelsior

As is tradition with the Stanley Cup, each player from the winning team gets to spend a few days with the famous trophy.

UPDATE: See Patch video of the Stanley Cup's arrival in Excelsior Thursday.

Lord Stanley's Cup will travel to the shores of Lake Minnetonka today, according to a Facebook post by the Lakeshore Weekly News.

Minnesota native Nick Leddy, a graduate of Eden Prairie High School and the U of M, will bring the cup to Maynard's—where it will be available for photos and viewing from 4-4:30 p.m.

Leddy, a member of the 2013 NHL champion Chicago Blackhawks, played in all 48 regular season games last season. The 22-year-old signed a two-year extension with Chicago just last week—a deal reportedly worth about $5 million.

Leddy will also be bringing the Stanley Cup to Eden Prairie High School tomorrow (Friday, July 12) and take questions from fans. Click here for more information on the appearance.
