Keri Noble Wows Wayzata

Keri Noble entertained more than 250 people on the front lawn of Wayzata Community Church on July 13.

More than 250 people of all ages enjoyed the music of local singer and songwriter Keri Noble at Worship on Wednesday (WoW) at Wayzata Community Church on July 13.

Noble, whose alto voice has been compared to Melissa Etheridge, performed close to 10 songs while playing the electric piano. She even did an encore.

“This isn't like any church environment I’ve ever been in before,” said Noble after the crowd responded with a resounding “yes” when she wondered aloud if she should end her set with a Blues song.

Noble currently calls Minneapolis home, but she grew up in Detroit. The daughter of a Baptist minister, secular music was not allowed in her life. After being inspired by Joni Mitchell’s album entitled Blue, Noble began to explore her own voice.

One of Noble’s songs was featured on Gray’s Anatomy and she has appeared on the CBS Early Show. In addition to touring in Asia and Europe, Noble spent two weeks in Iraq in 2010 entertaining troops of soldiers.

American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson recorded one of Noble’s songs entitled If No One Will Listen. The song was included on Clarkson’s All I Ever Wanted album, which was nominated for a Grammy.

Noble is currently touring to promote her new album entitled When It Don’t Come Easy. Her next local concerts are at The Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis on July 29.
