How You Can Join Female Iraqi Leaders on a Lake Minnetonka Cruise

The Iraqi and American Reconciliation Project (IARP) supports reconciliation between the people of Iraq and America through the arts, education, cultural exchange, water and sanitation projects and support for peacemakers in Iraq.

Lake Minnetonka will be the site of a July cruise featuring a contingent of female Iraqi leaders traveling to Minnesota as part of a cultural exchange program.

The cruise, organized by The Iraqi and American Cultural Project (IARP), will give guests a chance to meet courageous female leaders and help support development and training opportunities for Iraqi women in the Twin Cities area.

Iraqi guests will include:

  • Najah, Civil Engineer and former Director of Housing in Najaf
  • Hanan, Pharmacist, Najaf
  • Tagreed, Pharmacist, Baghdad
  • Hawraa, Participant in 2013 Songs of Hope in St. Paul, Baghdad
In all, eight Iraqi women are expected to travel to Minnesota for the cruise.

Volunteers are being sought to help guests and cruise organizers, including drivers, host families and event co-hosts.
