Hi. Come in, please. Thank you for coming.
I know some of you are wondering about Lake Minnetonka Patch's future. I appreciate all of the e-mails during the last few weeks. Here's what I can tell you:
First, I (Jay Corn) am leaving the company effective Oct. 15. I launched Lake Minnetonka Patch in April of 2011 and have been the site's only local editor.
Second, thank you for asking but no, I do not know what I'm going to do next ;-) I'm telling people growing my beard and fine tuning my golf swing are high on the list.
Finally, I will miss working for Patch dearly, and I am thankful for the opportunity to work for a company like AOL.
Fans of neighboring Patch sites will also see changes, but I would encourage users to funnel questions about those through other company representatives. (Scroll down for contact information post Oct. 15, 2013).
I can't say for sure what will happen to the actual site once I leave. I have heard talk of a possible complete shut off, so I would urge haste to anyone wishing to preserve archives.
Covering Lake Minnetonka for last few years has been a journalist's treat. My only regret is that I didn't do more—take more photos, write more stories, shoot more video. I hope Patch had a positive impact on your life. It had one on mine.
I will post again when I know more or am updated with additional information.
