Shorewood Hosts Open House this Week to Discuss Proposed Trail Extension
The City of Shorewood will host an open house this Thursday, Nov. 15, to discuss with area residents the planned Smithtown Road Trail project. Shorewood is proposing a pedestrian trail from the City of Victoria on Smithtown Road to the Lake Minnetonka LRT trail at Eureka Road.
Thursday's open house will take place at Minnewashta Elementary School and begin at 6:30 p.m. Residents will have an opportunity to get information about the proposed trail, talk with city staff and engineering consultants and give their feedback on the plans.
The draft feasibility study and the Shorewood Trail Implementation Plane are available on the city's web site. Those with questions or comments and who are unable to attend are asked to e-mail bnielsen @ci.shorewood.mn.us or call 952-960-7900.

Families and area residents are encouraged to give feedback on the trail at an open house event in the Media Center at Minnewashta Elementary on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6:30-8 p.m.
Representatives from the city will be in attendance to present the Smithtown Road portion of the city’s trail study, and to get feedback on needs of residents who attend the school or use Smithtown Road for walking and biking. The fourth grade will be hosting music concerts the same evening, so parents of those grades can visit the open house before or after their concerts.
All others should be aware of a heavy demand on parking and are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool.
Residents with questions regarding the project, or who are unable to attend but would like to offer feedback, are asked to please contact James Landini, City Engineer at 952.960.7910, or email@example.com.
