Miss Excelsior's Home Décor and Design Tour? Catch Up

Six Excelsior home décor and design stores have joined forces to offer a tour to showcase the range of home furnishings and accessories the city has to offer.

The Excelsior Home Style Tour wrapped up Saturday evening.  

Those who visited the stores on Friday were treated to decorating tips, trunk shows, refreshments and more. Many women were touring with friends. One pair was from Mexico City.

“My mom is going to cut my credit card when I get home,” said one of the women after purchasing jewelry at Jackie’s on Water Street.

At this weekend’s Home Style Tour, some of the participating stores had themes.

My European Treasures had “A Taste of France” theme. Owner Julie R. Woodward offered delicious goodies and a glass of wine to shoppers at her store.

“Color Inspiration for Summer” was the theme at The Sitting Room. While looking at the beautiful home furnishings, shoppers enjoyed Perrier with a fresh raspberry floating in the glass.

2 B Inspired hosted a jewelry trunk show featuring one of its many local artists.

At Jackie’s, shoppers were welcomed by the resident dog Henry who sits on a pillow in the front window most of the time. The jewelry trunk show was complemented by live jazz and wine on Friday night.

Mary O’Neal & Company offered a free appraisal on a treasure brought to the store during the tour and Petunia’s helped visitors with flower pot combinations.

Attendees were invited to pick up a stamp card, which was punched at each store on the tour for a drawing. At the end of the tour, each store gave away one $50 gift certificate.

The Excelsior Home Style Tour will take place every three months. The next tour will take place on October 14 and 15.
